Puerto Rico has been a favorite of tri-state travelers for years, but it was lacking an all-inclusive option... until now.
Following a year of record-breaking growth in the Caribbean in 2015, AMResorts has announced that they are opening a Dreams Resort & Spa in Puerto Rico. It will be the first (and only) true all inclusive on the island. As new construction, the 250 rooms are being built in the southwestern coastal town of Guánica.
“Puerto Rico’s no passport requirements and rich natural beauty have consistently made the island a popular choice for U.S. travelers. We’re excited to enter a destination that has yet to discover the substantial benefits of the all-inclusive model.” ~ Alex Zozaya, CEO of Apple Leisure Group.
Dreams Puerto Rico will be the 15th resort for the award-winning Dreams Resorts & Spas brand. It is scheduled to open October 2018 and will bring the family-friendly brand's signature Unlimited–Luxury concept, where everything is included, to Puerto Rico. Signature program offerings include: limitless à la carte dining with no reservations required, 24-hour room and concierge service, complimentary mini-bars refreshed daily, an unlimited premium beverage program, comprehensive day and nighttime activities, and more—all without wristbands.
There will be plenty to do on and off the resort. The Guanica Dry Forest is the largest dry coastal forest region in the world and a UNESCO-designated world biosphere reserve, and it is a mere 20 minutes from the resort. Puerto Rico is known for its rich history, tropical climate, diverse landscape and crystal-clear waters, perfect for swimming, surfing, snorkeling and diving.
This new all inclusive resort provides travelers with a fantastic new option in Puerto Rico!

In a world where people are looking for "all-inclusives" Avalon Waterways delivers. The staterooms are not only spacious but also boast fabulous views of your destination. Shore excursions led by Certified Local Guides are included in the cruise as well as Wi-Fi and regional wines and beer. Perhaps the most valuable inclusion is the VIP entrance into top attractions. No need to waste time in lines when you can be enjoying the very sites you went to see. After all, you are there to see and experience the location, what better way to get around than on a river cruise.

The 6 month validity rule...
If you plan to visit countries like Mexico, Bahamas or Belize then listen up! You must have at least 6 months left on your passport to enter! That's right, the expiration date on your passport is not exactly the expiration date as far as other countries are concerned. Countries such as Italy and Germany require 3 months. As a general rule, it is smart to always have a passport with 6 months left before expiring.
As stated by US Passport Help Guide, "The Six Months Validity Rule is imposed by foreign countries, and not by the United States. It simply means that your passport should be valid for more than six months before you would be allowed to enter a foreign destination." So that also means that the country you are trying to enter for your wonderful vacation, can send you packing if your passport doesn't have at least 6 months left on it.
While on the subject of annoying passport rules, I will add that the pages must be in "good" condition; no folds, tears or water damage. If it's deemed "not in good condition" you may be denied access.
