A quick word about travel insurance

 A friend of mine just posted this story on facebook, it could happen to anyone...
She was visiting the Atlantis with her family. They were there barely 2 hours when her mom stumbled off a curb. Turns out, she broke her hip. She will be staying at least one night at Doctors Hospital in Nassau before being medically transported to Virginia, her home, for surgery. When something unexpected like this happens, it is nice to have someone to call that can be calm and help put everything in place. I summed it up in a few sentences, but I am sure the process was anything but simple. Insurance companies get these calls all day, every day and know exactly how to handle it. My friend was so thankful she had a policy.

A word about multi-trip policies:
​I love this quote from the Allianz website, "if you are taking three trips this year, you're not going to buy three suitcases. Why would you buy three separate travel insurance plans?" An annual plan makes things simple and is more cost effective. Be sure to read the fine print and understand the coverage as policies differ.
