![]() I just received this unfortunate message from a friend and it is reason number one million to take insurance on every vacation! "I brought my family to Disneyworld for my son's second birthday this week. Last night, we had to take him to ER and it turns out 4 of the 6 of us have Influenza A. We have spent most of the trip in our hotel rooms, incurred a lot of medical expenses, and may not be able to fly home as scheduled. I, personally, don't always buy insurance for domestic trips but I probably will from now on. It has been such a bummer for my son to miss all the fun of this trip, and if I could have filed a claim, it would make me feel a little better about recouping some costs toward a "do-over" trip next year." I can't stress enough how important it is to have trip insurance. I often tell my own story about how insurance saved the day, which is yet another reason to always have travel insurance... I was on a college visit trip and my son brought his Beats. We left our luggage at the hotel for the day while we toured schools and when we got back, we did not have his Beats. I would have been frustrated and angry if I had to purchase a new pair. Luckily, I had trip insurance and all it took was a quick call and an emailed reciept for me to get reimbursed and replace his beloved headphones. It's a small price to pay for peace of mind.
